Jazz Festival (Jan 9-19)
The Barbados Jazz Festival, which celebrates the best in international
and local jazz talent, has become a major annual Caribbean event.
Venues typically include the modern Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex,
historic Sunbury Plantation House, and the popular open air venue,
Farley Hill National Park.

Gospel Festival (May)
Dedicated to Barbados, the Caribbean and the international community,
the Barbados Gospelfest maintains a standard of excellence second
to none, and has become a vital festival fixture for the region
at large. |

Crop Over (Aug)
Crop Over, a five-week summer festival, is Barbados' most popular
and colourful festival. It's origins can be traced back to the 1780's,
a time when Barbados was the world's largest producer of sugar.
At the end of the sugar season, there was always a huge celebration
to mark the culmination of another successful sugar cane harvest
- the Crop Over celebration. |

World Golf Championship Cup (Dec 7-10)
Barbados has been chosen to host the 2006 World Golf Championships
World Cup. The four-day will be played at the Sandy Lane Resort
on the west coast of the island. |
